Horton Outruns Horton In Pro Kart Lite Special 4/26/08 Billy Horton made his way to the starting grid of the Outlaw Kart Series at Eastside Speedway and walked away the winner of the special 25-lap feature for the Pro Lite division. Brother Barry Horton did what he could to catch Billy but had to settle for second in the Browns Excavating special event. Crimora youth Jacob Wimer finished third with Justin Morris fourth and Chad Kennedy finishing fifth. Series officials knew when they started the mornings activities that they were also in a race against the rain that was inching its way into the area. Giving only one practice session to try to offset the potential bad weather approaching did not seem to bother the racers much. By heat race time heat and humidity had set in and clouds were visibly building. Cody Woodward took the Purple Plate checkers after racing point leader Hunter Koschara to the checkered flag. Woodward got his first win with Koschara second, C.J. Hite third, Chris Lilly fourth and Gage Wood running fifth. Blue Plate racing saw Shawn Walker get the checkers for the feature once again leaving the field to wonder what it will take before someone else wins a race. Walker has won every race this season so far and leads the points by twenty-five over second place finisher Garrett Boxley. Dana Drumheller was third, Jesse Snow fourth and Brooke Coffey fifth. Doing back flips down the center of the grass in the middle of the racing oval was Sierra Cussons way of celebration after receiving her first checkers in Gold Plate feature racing. Cusson jumped from her kart and began cart wheeling and flipping to the delight of the crowd. Travis Conner finished second with Dylan Johnson third, T.J. Kidd fourth and Tim Weaver Jr fifth. Adam Meek returned to victory lane in Pro Medium racing after a close battle with Patrick Shiflett at the finish line. The pair rounded turn four side-by-side with Meek edging out Shiflett at the line. Jeff Sivers came in third at the checkers with Wayne Falls fourth and Mike Whetzel fifth. Wayne Falls took the win in Heavy racing keeping his win streak in tact and adding to his track win total. David Whetzel followed Falls to the line for second while Jerry Via fell third, Chuck Harris after an early spin came back to fourth and Tony Crosby was fifth. Hunter Koschara led Cody Cubbage to the checkers in Jr Sportsman racing while Kyle Brown took Jr Champ checkers and Mark Baker captured the Sr Champ win. Gold Animal racing saw Travis Conner capture the win with Dylan Johnson and Dillyn Leake following him to the line. A tight points race in the division will make the remaining season interesting. Wayne Falls collected his second checkered flag of the day in the Outlaw Open Adult division after racing Aaron Weaver and Sherry Johnson during the days feature. Falls continues to the in points while Johnson and Weaver set in a tie for second within the division. The series takes a much-needed week off at Waynesboro while the next race out is scheduled for Saturday May 10th with the Mikes Tire & Auto Blue Plate 25 lap special. Gates will open at 8:30am with karts scheduled to occupy the staging lanes no later than 9:30am. |

| Attention
all racers & Parents We have to get a control on yellow flag conditions. If a yellow flag is displayed, ALL drivers are to comply immediately. Those not slowing down and continue to run at a higher rate of speed other than a slower pace rate will be penalized at the discretion of the track officials. If you dont know what the flags mean what, then go here and learn them. Everyone will be given a fair chance to catch up to the leader under caution, there is no need to continue at race speeds. If you spin during a race and you are able to safely continue, a caution will not necessarily be brought out. If you continue to set until a caution comes out and you are able to continue & then you move, you may be penalized at the discretion of track officials. |
